Blackberry - Natchez

The Natchez blackberry is a semi-erect, early-ripening, thornless shrub that produces a large crop of sweet berries. In the early summer, you can expect a high yield of berries that are large, glossy, and oblong. This plant should be pruned annually to ensure a successful crop. Natchez (like most blackberries) will require a trellis. Chester is hardier than this variety – consider that if you are in zone 5 or higher.

Mac Black is a late-season variety that extends the raspberry season. Its berries have excellent flow, size, and yield. It is one of the very last varieties of black raspberry to ripen each year. Mac Black benefits from being trellised.
Black Raspberry - Niwot

Niwot is a highly productive and vigorous berry. It’s size is equal to Jewel, but the flavor is less intense. Trellising is required. Plant 3-4’ apart in rows.
Black Raspberry - Tahi

'Tahi' is the first completely thornless black raspberry variety. "Tahi" means Number One in Māori. It grows vigorously and more upright than typical thorny black raspberry cultivars. It has a harvest season similar to Jewel. Large, medium firm have a deep black color. While tightly clustered fruit presentation can make early picking challenging, the lack of thorns simplifies picking and pruning compared to traditional black raspberry varieties.
