Austrian Pine is an easy to grow, dense, pyramidal evergreen when young. Although this conifer does become flat-topped with age. It has long, stiff, dark-green needles. This species withstands adverse city conditions and road salt well. Maintain by "candle pruning" each May. The current year’s new shoots, or "candles," can be cut with hand pruners or pinched off to the desired length.
