Tamarack (American)

Tamarack (American Larch)

Larix laricina | Zones 1-5 | Soil: Moist, Well-Drained

American Larch is a Wisconsin native deciduous conifer. Unlike most evergreens and conifers, the Tamarack tree loses its needles each winter season. The soft, bright blue-green foliage turns a rich golden-yellow in fall. A great choice for wet sites!

Tamarack (European)

Tamarack (European Larch)

Larix decidua | Zones 2-5 | Soil: Moist, Well-Drained

European larch is a great choice for specimen plantings or in groups for parks and large areas. Unlike most conifers, it drops its needles in winter. Bright green foliage in spring changes to medium green throughout summer, turning a golden yellow in fall before falling.
