Balsam Fir SOLD OUT FOR 2025

The Balsam Fir is an extremely popular choice for both personal and commercial Christmas tree production. This conifer has shiny soft green needles and shears very nicely. The Balsam Fir is a favorite for wreath makers, who love to use the fragrant green boughs in their work. This evergreen exhibits short needles which are 1/2 - 1" in length and cones which measure 2-4" in length. Pyramidal in shape, this symmetrical fir tree is quite ornamental. The Balsam Fir is also quite shade tolerant.

A medium-sized Fir growing around 50’ tall with blue-green needles. Often used as a XMAS tree, but is also becoming increasingly popular in landscaping. Very hardy – reaching all of the way up into the far northern zones.
Canaan Fir
Abies balsamea | Zones 3-8 | Soil: Loamy, Sandy
The Canaan Fir is a stately fir that boasts dense, dark green to bluish fragrant foliage. With excellent needle retention, it is a sought after choice for Christmas tree production. While similar to the Fraser and Balsam Fir in appearance and growth habit, the Canaan Fir will grow in heavier soils as well as soil with a higher pH level. Avoid heavy wet clay. Fairly deer resistant. Drought tolerant once established.
Douglas Fir

Douglas Fir grow rapidly, and can reach heights of over 200 feet during a lifespan which can surpass 1,000 years. Douglas Fir feature beautiful soft gray-green to blue-green needles, which carry a very pleasant aroma when cut or crushed, or even when just walking among mature specimens.

Fraser Fir
Abies fraseri | Zones 4-7 | Soil: Well-Drained
The Fraser Fir is the Cadillac of Christmas trees, grown for both personal and commercial production. The branches on the Fraser Fir turn slightly upward and the tree exhibits a dark blue-green color with a silvery underside. Strong, well-spaced branches make the Fraser Fir great for decorating with heavy ornaments. Grows best in moist but well drained, fertile soil which is very acidic and somewhat protected from drying winds.
Fralsam Fir (Fraser + Balsam Cross)

The Fralsam™ Fir is a hybrid cross developed by Weir Tree Farms and has been their top seller since it was rated "Best Overall" by the Wall Street Journal in November 2002. This hybrid incorporates the best characteristics of its parent trees, the Balsam and the Fraser, into one outstanding tree. This tree is late budding and misses the early spring frost and it is also resistant to a majority of diseases and insects.

Grand fir (Abies grandis) trees grow as a large, evergreen conifer. In fact, it is the tallest tree in the genus Abies in the world. Grand firs can grow up to 250 feet tall. It has a strong, piney smell.

Korean Fir

The Korean Fir is one of the most unique Firs available. It has short, shiny needle tops accompanied by a silver underside. The cones are a vibrant purple color that makes them stand out. Avoid wet and heavy clay soils, but the Korean Fir does handle more poorly drained soil than most Firs.
Korean x Balsam Fir

The Korean Balsam fir hybrid (Abies koreana x balsamea) is a tree that results from a cross between the Korean fir (Abies koreana) and the balsam fir (Abies balsamea). It is a relatively new hybrid and has become a popular ornamental tree in recent years.
